New owner, same
commitment
by Clair D. Urbain
Welcome to this issue of
Contractor Tools and Supplies! A few things have changed, but
most things haven’t. Let me explain.
Contractor Tools and
Supplies, along with its sister publications, Construction
Purchasing, MRO Today and Progressive Distributor, was
recently purchased by Milo Media of Barrington, Illinois.
Milo Media publishes
Lift Applications & Equipment, CraneWorks, Fuel Cell, Utilities and
Telecom Fleets and telecom Infrastructure magazines as
well as hosts seminars and trade events that serve these markets.
The synergy between the two groups is exceptional and we aim to
leverage our strengths to continue serving our readers with the best
information possible.
I am sure many of you
have been through corporate buyouts, or have listened to the trials
and tribulations of friends and relatives who have been through
them. Many of these mergers serve only the investment bankers and
rarely serve the customers, or in our case, readers.
I think you’ll find, as
time marches on, that won’t be true with Milo Media. There is a
commitment to the audiences it serves that sets it apart from the
rest of the investment banker-owned media companies that dominate
the marketplace today. It’s refreshing and exciting.
In this issue, you’ll
find some information on upcoming seminars that deal with aerial
platforms and crane safety and productivity. These seminars are a
logical fit for contractors, in that they can help you complete work
faster and in a safer manner. Check them out on pages 37 and 42 in
the printed version of this magazine. The conferences are in Las
Vegas, and promise to deliver some great insight in reaching new
heights. We hope to see you there!
With the new ownership,
our combined forces pledge to deliver the quality of information you
need to be most effective in what you do. We believe it’s the key to
your success and, ultimately, our success.
As in the past, we
welcome your comments and insights on what you like and even don’t
like about this magazine. If you have an idea or a comment you’d
like to share, or an information need that you’re struggling with,
call us. We’ll listen and, if you need some help, we’ll lend a hand
where we can.
We all look forward to
serving you with relevant and helpful information. Even with new
owners, our commitment remains the same: To help our readers do
their jobs more efficiently and safely so they can realize an even
greater return on their investments in time, material and hard work.
