Happy anniversary to us!

Funny how time flies when you’re having fun! That’s certainly the case with this issue of Contractor Tools and Supplies, which marks its 10th year of publication in 2008.

In the past decade, we’ve been committed to providing commercial contractors with the information they need to make their jobs go faster, better, safer and in turn, more profitable.

We’ve never strayed from that commitment, and in return, we’ve achieved a loyal following of readers who consistently look to us for insight and advice on tools, supplies and how to work more efficiently and safely.

If I may brag a bit, our readership studies show we’re serving your needs. Of those readers answering our most recent readership survey, 99 percent report they read Contractor Tools and Supplies and 98 percent report that it provides them with helpful information and ideas for their work. Also, 91 percent pass the issue on to one or more persons within their company and 73 percent save the issues for future reference. The 2007 readership results mirror results from past years’ studies: We look at it as your vote of approval on how we approach stories and package them for your needs.

In the past 10 years, we’ve offered you breaking news on new tool technology, new thinking on how to adapt Lean construction techniques in your organization and provided tips and advice on ways to complete a variety of jobs and tasks more safely.

We’ve relied heavily on industry experts to give us insight to share with you. After all, they work closely with contractors every day, listen to your concerns and spend lots of time and resources developing products that help meet your needs. We are eternally grateful for their input and realize that’s the type of information you want and need to compete in today’s extremely competitive commercial construction market. But we aren’t resting on our laurels.

We will keep monitoring the pulse of the industry and share ways we’ve uncovered to help you be as productive as possible in your work.

Over the years, we’ve grown to much more than a bi-monthly magazine. We’ve added an annual Product Showcase to our mailing schedule which breaks out new tools and supplies by product category, and we’ve built an online presence at contractortoolsandsupplies.com that’s proven to be a valuable contractor resource. It provides news, features article archives, and an easy-to-use product news section which allows users to quickly contact companies for more information on their products.

Thanks for reading!
